Lucía Durán (1925–2018), a Colombian naïf painter, drew inspiration from her rural childhood. Starting her career at 55, she created 200 naïve-style works exhibited internationally. Despite personal tragedies and isolation in her later years, her art radiated joy and fortitude. Her story honors her legacy and highlights the need to protect vulnerable elders.
